Mark #19: Jesus Preaches a Sermon
Mark 4:21-34 – The goal of a good sermon is not just to hear a good word but live a godly life. In this message, Pastor Byron teaches 6 helpful hints on how to listen to a sermon and 3 things about the importance of the Word.
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED:
Take 5 minutes to silently read over the section of scripture to gather insight, questions, or discussion with the group before answering the questions.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What is the Kingdom of God? How is it already here? How is it also yet to come?
2. How is your life in the Kingdom to be a lamp on a stand?
3. What does Jesus mean when he says to pay attention to what you hear in verse 24-25
4. What Kingdom role do you play in the coming harvest? (verse 29)
5. How is the Kingdom of God like a mustard seed? Compare this to the local church.
CHALLENGE:
This week your challenge is to be a lamp on a stand, a seed that brings the harvest, and the mustard seed that grows. This week invite three people, one per parable, to church on Sunday. Journal your invite experience and how you felt when they showed up or if they did not. Be ready to share with the group.
